Oleksandr Maryhin
Oleksandr Hryhorovych Maryhin was born on December 12, 1987, in the village of Mariyana Roscha, Petropavlivskyi District, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
He began his career in railway transport in August 2020 as an assistant locomotive driver at the "Dniprovskyi Locomotive Depot," a branch of the "Locomotive Company" of JSC "Ukrainian Railways." He had 4 years of experience in the railway sector.
On February 25, 2022, he voluntarily took up arms to defend his homeland by joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On March 2, 2024, while returning to his temporary deployment location after completing training to enhance his skills in operating unmanned aerial systems, he was involved in a traffic accident near the settlement of Novhorodka in Kropyvnytskyi District, Kirovohrad Oblast, sustaining multiple injuries that were incompatible with life.
Colleagues remember him as a disciplined and responsible worker who always sought professional growth. Oleksandr was sociable and friendly. He had several hobbies, including fishing and cycling, and was an avid numismatist, managing to amass a significant coin collection. He dreamed of owning his own car, after which he became a passionate car enthusiast.
Oleksandr is survived by his wife, daughter, and long-awaited son. We express our heartfelt condolences to the family.
