Olexandr was born and lived in the town of Pyatykhatky in the Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk Technological College with a degree in "Grain Storage and Processing Technology" and obtained the qualification of a technician-technologist. He dedicated nearly 17 years to working on the railway. From 2005 to 2012, he worked as a driver of railway construction machines at the Track Machine Station No. 237 of the Dnipro Railway. From 2012 to 2022, he worked at the Verkhovtsevo Center for Mechanization of Track Works, a branch of the "Center for Repair and Operation of Track Machines" (CREOTM), as a driver of vacuum ballast loading machines FATRAVAC 17000/U of the 6th category.

In civilian life, Olexandr Ozernyi enjoyed gardening and viticulture, dreaming of developing new grape varieties. He planned to provide a decent life for his daughter, but he had to take up arms to defend his homeland.

Senior Sergeant Olexandr Ozernyi was killed on March 8, 2022, during an enemy shelling in the Volnovakha district of the Donetsk region. The defender was 46 years old.

Friends and colleagues knew him as a determined, kind, and responsible worker, as well as a person who deeply desired a better future for his country.

On December 20, 2019, Olexandr signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Olexandr is survived by his wife and daughter.

The team at the Verkhovtsevo Center for Mechanization of Track Works, a branch of the "Center for Repair and Operation of Track Machines" (CREOTM) of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia," deeply shares the family's bitter pain. Olexandr Ozernyi was a master both at work and in the garden, but he became a warrior to protect peaceful life. We will always remember his professionalism, patriotism, and desire for a better Ukraine. Glory to the Defender!
