Oleksandr UBYISOBAKA
Oleksandr was born in the city of Poltava and lived in the village of Makukhivka. After obtaining his education at the Poltava College of Oil and Gas, he worked as a personnel training engineer at the Poltava motor vehicle depot. In peaceful life, he dreamed of becoming a military pilot and starting a large family.
With the onset of the full-scale invasion, Oleksandr volunteered to go to war, not informing anyone about it. His family thought he was engaged in volunteer activities. At the front, he served as a radio telephone operator – a line supervisor in a mortar platoon. Friends and colleagues valued him as a qualified professional, brave, courageous, and strong in spirit, who did not bow his head in the face of adversity.
Soldier Oleksandr Ubyisobaka was killed on May 28, 2023, near the city of Avdiivka in Donetsk Oblast while performing a combat mission. He was to turn 25 in a week.
Posthumously, Oleksandr was awarded the "Defender of Ukraine" medal. A memorial plaque has been unveiled on the facade of the school he attended.
Oleksandr is survived by his grandmother Lyubov Hryhorivna.
The team at the Poltava motor vehicle depot of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" proudly and sadly honors the memory of Oleksandr Ubyisobaka. His bravery, determination, and strength of spirit will forever remain with us. Glory to the Hero who had great dreams!
