Oleksandr VAKULA
Oleksandr Vakula was born and lived in the village of Bilovody in the Sumy region. He received his secondary education at the Chervonozavodsk Higher Vocational School, where he trained as a lathe operator.
After completing his studies, he served in the military. Later, he worked abroad. In 2010, Oleksandr got married. He loved his homeland dearly, and his love for Ukraine was instilled in his children. He was passionate about fishing.
His last place of work was the Poltava Directorate of Railway Transportation of the Southern Railway, where he worked as a laborer at the Andriyashivka station. Colleagues knew him as a sincere, loyal, and reliable friend.
Oleksandr enlisted on December 22, 2022. He served as a machine gunner in the 2nd rifle squad of the 1st rifle platoon of the 1st rifle company of the 1st rifle battalion. For nearly two years, he defended the country in the hot spots of Donetsk region.
Soldier Oleksandr Vakula, with the call sign "Kuznets," was killed on August 7, 2024, while performing a combat mission in the area of the village of Makiyivka in the Luhansk region. During his last phone call with his family, the defender assured them that he was fine and warned them not to call as he was going on a mission... The warrior was 41 years old.
Oleksandr is survived by his wife and two minor children.
The team at the Andriyashivka station of the Poltava Directorate of Railway Transportation deeply mourns the irreparable loss of their colleague and expresses sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Oleksandr Vakula. We will forever cherish the bright memory of our brave colleague-hero who gave his life for the freedom of Ukraine. Eternal memory and honor!
