Oleksiy Samchenko

Oleksiy was born in the village of Nova Buda in the Kyiv region. He lived in the village of Kodra. He worked for 22 years on the railway, serving as the head of the mechanized section No. 7 in the Kyiv track distance.

He loved mushroom picking, fishing, and hunting, but most of all, he cherished spending time with his family.

A person with a big kind heart. Intelligent, brave, hardworking, determined, and creative, those who knew Oleksiy remember him well. He was a fan of his work, and his colleagues were like a second family to him. He had a talent for bringing people together and was an excellent organizer.

The life of 45-year-old railway worker Oleksiy Samchenko was cut short on March 17, 2022, near the village of Zahaltsi in the Borodyanka district of the Kyiv region.

"Everything will be fine," he always told everyone.

Olexiy is survived by his wife Lyudmyla.

A leader and specialist who shaped the team like his own family for over two decades, he was known for his ability to unite people and his positive outlook. This 45-year-old work enthusiast, who loved nature and his loved ones, died near Borodyanka due to military actions.
