Sergiy SPYCHAK
Serhiy was born in the city of Lozova, Kharkiv region, where he lived his entire life. In 2008, he graduated from the Kharkiv Automobile and Road Technical School, obtaining a degree as a technician-mechanic. In June of the same year, he joined the team at the Panyutyn Wagon Repair Plant, to which he dedicated 17 years of his working life.
During his time working on the railway, Serhiy proved himself to be a versatile specialist: starting as a driller, he later mastered the professions of press operator in hot stamping and electric welder on automatic and semi-automatic machines.
On December 14, 2024, Serhiy was called up for mobilization to the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his homeland from the invader.
Serhiy Anatoliyovych Spychak, an electric welder in the preparation shop, was killed on February 9, 2025, while performing a combat mission near the settlement of Zahryzove in the Izium district of Kharkiv region. The life of the Defender was cut short due to an enemy drone dropping munitions. He was 37 years old.
Colleagues remember Serhiy as a responsible and sincere person. Due to his strong and determined character, he enjoyed undeniable authority in the shop and great respect among railway workers. His diligence and reliability were an example for those around him.
Serhiy is survived by his father and mother.
The team at the Panyutyn Wagon Repair Plant of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows their heads in indescribable pain and deep sorrow before Serhiy Spychak. Our colleague, who dedicated his entire professional life to the railway, heroically perished while defending his native Kharkiv region. His courage, sincerity, and sacred sacrifice will forever remain in the memory of our team. Eternal memory and honor to our Hero!
