Petro Horkusha

Petro was born in the village of Oliivka, Zhytomyr region. He received higher education and worked as an electromechanic in the signaling and communication division of the Zhytomyr railway. He served as a rifleman-paramedic in the airborne assault troops.

25-year-old soldier Petro Horkusha was killed on March 24, 2022, in the village of Mateiky, Zhytomyr region, during an enemy airstrike.

Colleagues remembered Petro as a diligent and responsible worker with an active life stance. He was calm, balanced, and treated his colleagues with respect.

He was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree.

Petro is survived by his parents and sister.

The team of the Zhytomyr signaling and communication division of the regional branch "South-Western Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" deeply mourns the loss of their young colleague. Petro Horkusha, who had an active life stance, heroically fell while defending his native Zhytomyr region from an enemy airstrike.
