Serhiy Kaplunovskyi

Serhiy was born in the village of Kovyahi, Kharkiv region. In 2016, he joined the railway family as a track maintenance worker of the 3rd category at the Lyubotyn track maintenance unit. He dedicated 7 years of his life to the railway.

Colleagues remember him as a responsible worker with a great sense of humor, who was held in high regard. Outside of work, he was passionate about football and dreamed of getting married and having a large family.

On the fifth day of the full-scale invasion, February 27, 2022, Serhiy joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the mechanized troops, where he exemplified bravery and dedication.

Serhiy Kaplunovskyi was killed on February 25, 2023, while defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine during a combat mission near the settlement of Novoselivske in the Luhansk region.

He was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" III class.

Serhiy is survived by his mother and sister.

The team at the Lyubotyn track maintenance unit of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows its head in sorrow over the heroic death of Serhiy Kaplunovskyi. His courage and love for life, honored with the Order of "For Courage," will forever remain in our memory.
