Serhiy MIRONOV

Філія «Оператор припортових станцій»
01.08.1980 – 01.03.2024

On March 1, 2024, during a combat mission near the village of Tonenke in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region, machine gunner Serhiy Mykolaiovych Mironov (call sign "Kraken") of the 22nd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine fought his last battle. For over two years, he was considered missing under special circumstances, and only in September 2026, after the necessary examinations, did official confirmation of his death arrive. The hero was just 43 years old.

Serhiy was born on August 1, 1980, in the city of Odesa. In March 2003, he began his career in railway transport as a locksmith for the repair of rolling stock at the Kolosivka wagon maintenance point. He later worked as a wagon inspector-repairman at the Kolosivka and Odesa-Port maintenance points. During structural transformations, he continued his diligent work as a top-grade, 6th category wagon inspector-repairman at the Odesa-Port maintenance point of the "Operator of Sea Ports" branch of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia," dedicating over 21 years of his life to the railways.

Colleagues remember Serhiy Mykolaiovych as a highly skilled, technically knowledgeable specialist and a responsible worker. He was a cheerful person with a big open heart, always ready to lend a hand and offer kind advice.

In civilian life, Serhiy's most valuable treasure was his family. Together with his wife, they raised three sons, whom he was immensely proud of, giving them all his paternal love and care.

On June 2, 2022, Serhiy consciously took up the defense of his homeland and all of Ukraine from the occupiers by joining the Armed Forces. With a weapon in hand and under the call sign "Kraken," he held back the enemy's onslaught in the most challenging areas of the front, remaining faithful to his military oath and the Ukrainian people until his last breath.

The fallen defender is survived by his wife and three sons.

The team of the "Operator of Sea Ports" branch and the entire Odesa Railway of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" shares the indescribable pain of this tragedy and expresses deep condolences to Serhiy Mironov's wife, sons, family, and comrades. The bright memory of his kind heart, professional skill, paternal tenderness, and warrior's heroism will forever live in our hearts.

Eternal honor and glory to the Hero!
