Sergiy NYSHCHYI
Serhiy Vasylovych was born on May 18, 1983, in the city of Lozova, Kharkiv region. He grew up in a large family, taught from a young age to love work and help those around him. A lively boy, sincere, straightforward, humane, and kind-hearted. These qualities were highly valued by everyone who knew Serhiy. His classmates loved him for his restlessness and easygoing nature. Teachers respected him for his responsibility in fulfilling tasks and his willingness to be the first to lend a hand. After finishing the 9th grade, Serhiy continued his education at an evening school. Upon completing his studies, he decided to work on the railway. Since 2017, he had been working as a track layer of the 3rd category at the Lozova track distance of the regional branch "Southern Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia." Serhiy quickly established himself as a responsible and hardworking employee. He was not afraid of hard work—changing sleepers, repairing rails, and checking track safety. Colleagues respected him for his diligence and calm demeanor.
Serhiy was also a model family man. He loved his wife dearly, and together they planned their life, sharing common values—love for their hometown, simple joys of life, and mutual respect. Despite his daily hard work, Serhiy always found time for family and friends. He cherished the simple pleasures of life—communicating with loved ones, tranquility, and harmony with the surrounding world. Serhiy was a person who would never leave his friends in trouble, always ready to help with advice or action.
On June 28, 2024, Serhiy was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Sailor Nyshyy Serhiy served in a marine infantry unit. During his service, he proved to be a brave, disciplined, and responsible soldier.
Serhiy was killed on October 9, 2024, while defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine during a combat mission on the outskirts of the settlement of Mykolaivka in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region.
The team at the Lozova track distance deeply mourns the irreparable loss. Eternal memory and honor to our colleague and Hero!
