Serhiy ROTAR
Soldier Serhiy Rotar, senior electromechanic, was killed on March 15, 2024, during combat operations near the village of Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region. He would have turned 37 years old on March 20.
Serhiy was born in the town of Kyrylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region and lived in Dnipro. He graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk Railway Transport Technical School and dedicated 17 years to the railway. Since 2014, he worked as an electromechanic, and from 2018, he served as a senior electromechanic in the Melitopol signaling and communication production unit.
On April 18, 2023, Serhiy took up arms to defend his homeland, joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He is survived by his wife Aliona and son Dmytro.
The team of the Melitopol signaling and communication unit of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows their heads in profound sorrow and deep respect for Serhiy Rotar.
