Sergiy SANDUL
Sergiy Mykhailovych was born on June 14, 1974, in the village of Novyi Svit, Starobeshivskyi District, Donetsk Oblast, and later lived in the city of Synelnykove in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. He began his career in railway transport in March 2011 as a 4th-grade electric gas welder in the specialized work construction site.
For over 20 years, Sergiy Mykhailovych dedicated himself to the railway industry, working as a 5th-grade locksmith for emergency recovery at the water supply section of the Kamyanske station, part of the Dnipro Directorate of the BMES branch of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia." Throughout his years of service, he established himself as an exceptionally responsible, hardworking, goal-oriented, and conscientious specialist. Colleagues remember him as a sincere, warm-hearted, open, and kind person. He was a reliable friend who never turned away from someone else's trouble and was always ready to help.
On May 28, 2023, Serhiy Mykhailovych consciously chose the path of a defender of his homeland and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During intense battles in Donetsk, he went missing. For over two years, his family, comrades, and colleagues lived in hope, but the confirmation of the tragic news shattered those hopes forever: on April 15, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement in the Pokrovskyi District of Donetsk Oblast, Sergiy was killed, remaining faithful to his military oath until his last breath.
Sergiy sincerely and unconditionally believed in the cause for which he went to the front: so that his loved ones could live in a free country and that children would have a peaceful and happy future.
In civilian life, he was a strong support for his family. The Hero is survived by his wife and two sons.
The team of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" expresses its deepest and most sincere condolences to Sergiy Sandul's wife, sons, all relatives, close ones, and comrades. We share this burning pain, thank him for decades of dedicated work, and bow our heads in deep sorrow before the magnificent feat of our colleague. The bright memory of the brave Hero will forever live in our hearts.
Eternal memory and honor to the Defender of Ukraine!
