Serhiy SHAPOVAL

Serhiy was born and lived in the city of Konotop, Sumy region. Since 2009, he worked as a 3rd class milling machine operator at the Konotop railway depot, dedicating 15 years to the railway.

Colleagues remember Serhiy as a responsible, honest, and communicative worker. He had a determined character, always achieving his goals and earning authority and respect within the team.

Serhiy was a veteran of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO), serving from 2014 to 2015. On February 23, 2022, on the eve of the full-scale invasion, he was called up for military service as a reservist and bravely and devotedly defended his homeland.

Junior Sergeant Serhiy Leonidovych Shapoval, milling machine operator, was killed on February 25, 2024, as a result of an enemy anti-tank missile strike in the vicinity of the settlement of Ivanivske in the Donetsk region. For a long time, he was considered missing in action.

Serhiy is survived by his mother and brother.
