Sergiy SVITLYSHYN
Serhiy was born in the village of Florianivka in the Vinnytsia region. In 2011, he joined the railway family, becoming a 5th-grade electrical maintenance technician at the Koziatyn Electrical Supply Division of the regional branch "South-Western Railway."
Colleagues remember him as an active and energetic worker. "Serhiy never hid behind someone else's back; he always had his own opinion," says his mentor Viktor Melnyk. "He dreamed a lot and worked hard; he had a whole life ahead of him, but the war had other plans..."
Outside of work, Serhiy was passionate about parachuting, as the feeling of flight gave him an incredible boost of energy.
On May 14, 2024, Serhiy joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a marine infantryman, where he was an example of courage and dedication for his comrades. He bravely defended his homeland and gave a worthy resistance to the occupiers.
Serhiy was killed on October 3, 2024, while protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine during a combat mission in the Donetsk direction.
For his personal bravery and selfless actions in defense of state sovereignty, he was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" III degree.
We express our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Serhiy is survived by his parents, wife, and son.
The team at the Koziatyn Electrical Supply Division deeply mourns this irreparable loss. He is now our hero. He will remain so in our memory forever! Our heartfelt condolences to Serhiy's family!
