Serhiy VOLKOV

Serhiy Yevhenovych joined the railway in 2001 as a logger at the Shevchenkivska production unit of the "Shevchenkivska Protective Forest Plantations Distance."

Colleagues remember him as disciplined, hardworking, positive, and friendly. He was a patriot, distinguished by his steel endurance and unyielding courage. In civilian life, he enjoyed fishing and dreamed of traveling across Ukraine.

In September 2022, Serhiy was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a gunner in the machine gun platoon of the infantry company.

Soldier Serhiy Yevhenovych Volkov was killed on July 20, 2023, as a result of blast injuries during combat near the settlement of Staromaiorske in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk region.

Serhiy is survived by his mother, wife, and four children.
