Stanislav DJURA-SOKOLOVSKY
Stanislav was born in Vinnytsia. He lived in the city of Zhmerinka in the Vinnytsia region. He graduated from the Zhmerinka Vocational Technical School, where he obtained the profession of trackman. In 2021, he enrolled in the Vinnytsia Transport College in the "Railway Transport" faculty. He worked at the Zhmerinka Track Machine Station of the "Center for Track Construction and Repair" branch. He was a foreman (dismissed) for the current maintenance and repair of tracks and artificial structures of the 6th category.
He served in military unit 3057 (Mariupol) of the National Guard of Ukraine as a shooter in the 1st platoon of the 1st rifle company (responsible for escorting, extradition, and guarding defendants) of the rifle battalion.
Senior Sergeant Stanislav Djura-Sokolovsky was killed on April 9, 2022, while defending Mariupol. He was just 22... He wrote to his mother: "We will hold the defense until the last bullet and breath, but we will not let them through to you."
Colleagues remember Stanislav as a bright and friendly person who never refused to help anyone. In his childhood, he was passionate about reading books about adventures and dreamed of seeing the whole world. In school, he engaged in swimming and loved sports competitions.
He was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree.
The deceased is survived by his mother and younger sister.
The team at the Zhmerinka Track Machine Station of the "Center for Track Construction and Repair" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" deeply mourns the loss of their young colleague, Senior Sergeant Stanislav Djura-Sokolovsky. This friendly track foreman, who dreamed of adventures, heroically defended Mariupol until his last breath, as he promised his mother. His courage and bravery, recognized by the Order of "For Courage," serve as an eternal example for us. We express our sincere condolences to his mother and sister. Eternal memory to the 22-year-old Hero!
