Svitlana was born in the village of Vasylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. She studied at vocational school No. 1 in the city of Zaporizhzhia. She joined the railway in 1985 as an operator at the Zaporizhzhia II station, where she worked as an operator in the station's technological center for processing train information and transport documents. She dedicated her entire working life to this position, giving over 40 years of her life to the railway.

Svetlana tragically died on July 25, 2025, while returning home from work to the village of Prymorske in the Vasylivka district of Zaporizhzhia region, as a result of a direct hit from an enemy drone on the car she was traveling in.

The head of the station's trade union, Olena Rybalka, says that Svetlana was a bright, positive person: “On the day of her death, I spoke with her, warning her that the region is constantly under fire, and suggested she go somewhere safer,” says the union leader. “But Svetlana, as always, smiled and said that our guys would drive the enemy away from the city; she believed in it. She was planning to visit her daughter to take care of her granddaughter, but she didn’t make it. She was very diligent at work, quick to grasp information and new knowledge, and taught the youth. It’s a great loss that she is no longer with us; we really miss her at the station.” The husband of the deceased railway worker, Andriy Oleksiyovych, remembers his wife as a cheerful, sociable person with many friends and acquaintances: “Svetlana was attentive to people, kind and compassionate,” he says. “She loved indoor and garden flowers, especially roses. She dreamed of a long and happy life.”

She is survived by her husband, two daughters, and two granddaughters. We express our heartfelt condolences to Svetlana's family and loved ones.

The team of the Zaporizhzhia regional department of station operations mourns the irreparable loss. Eternal memory and honor to our colleague.
