Vitaliy Dereyko

Vitaliy dedicated over 20 years of his life to the railway. He made a significant professional journey, rising from a train assembler to a train dispatcher, safety inspector, and station master and duty officer at the Brody station.

His colleagues respected and valued him as a person who fully devoted himself to his work, always ready to help and support others. He is remembered as a kind, brave, and principled specialist who could lead a team and set an example for others.

In July 2023, Vitaliy was mobilized into the military. He served as a sniper in an airborne assault unit and fought in the hottest conflict zones against the enemy.

44-year-old soldier Vitaliy Orestovych Dereyko was killed on September 10, 2023, during a battle near the settlement of Novomayorske in Donetsk region. He was considered missing for six months until the tragic news of his death was confirmed in March 2024.

The team at JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" remembers Vitaliy Dereyko with deep sorrow and pride. His dedication, bravery, and years of service will forever be our unbreakable symbol. Eternal memory and honor to the Warrior-Railwayman!
