Vitaliy KUSHNIR
Vitaliy Kushnir was born and lived in the city of Shepetivka, Khmelnytskyi region. He worked at the Shepetivka branch of the Kozatyn Railway Machine Station, part of the "Center for Track Construction and Repair," as a 3rd category trackman in the "Lanko-Assembly Base" workshop.
Having an active civic position, in 2015, Vitaliy signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went to serve in Odesa. From March to June 2019, he participated in battles in Eastern Ukraine. After completing his contract, he returned to civilian life and got a job in the railway sector.
In March 2024, he was mobilized. Initially, he trained at a training ground and was later deployed to the Zaporizhzhia region. He served as the commander of the 1st infantry squad of the 2nd infantry platoon of the 1st infantry company of his military unit.
44-year-old Senior Sergeant Vitaliy Kushnir was killed on August 25, 2024, in the village of Novopavlivka, Zaporizhzhia region.
Vitaliy's mother, Nadiya Heorhiyivna, recalls that he loved reading very much. He read through the entire large home library and many electronic books. Colleagues knew Vitaliy as a diligent and responsible worker, a reliable friend, and an exceptionally bright, kind, and positive person who always responded to requests for help.
Vitaliy is survived by his mother.
