Vladyslav Arkushenko
Vladyslav was born in Mykolaiv. He grew up obedient and curious, fascinated by computer technology. At a very young age, he upgraded the family computer. Vladyslav dreamed of graduating from the Faculty of Cybernetics and becoming a programmer, studying at a university in Dnipro.
He graduated from the Mykolaiv College of Transport Infrastructure of the Dnipropetrovsk National University of Railway Transport named after Academician V. Lazaryan. In 2019, he began working on the railway as an electrician for the repair and maintenance of signaling, centralization, and blocking devices of the 5th category at the signaling and communication section of the Mykolaiv-Vantazhny station. Colleagues recall: “Vladyslav was a very active young man, always smiling and positive.”
Vladyslav Arkushenko did not live to see his 22nd birthday. He died on March 29, 2022, during a missile strike on the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration while on duty at the security post of the Mykolaiv OVA that tragic morning. Nearly 40 people lost their lives that day.
His mother, Olena Valeriivna, shared that her son was very kind and compassionate, always willing to help. He followed in his father's footsteps, Oleksandr Oleksandrovych, to become a railway worker. In March 2022, Vladyslav was mobilized. From the first days of the enemy's attack on Ukraine, he went to defend his homeland.
Vladyslav's six-year-old brother, Matviy, misses him dearly. He remembers that his older brother often took him out for walks and was very kind and loving.
Vladyslav is survived by his parents and brother.
The team at the Mykolaiv signaling and communication branch of the regional division "Odesa Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" deeply mourns the loss of their young colleague, Vladyslav Arkushenko. Eternal memory to a bright and kind person!
