Volodymyr Horyn
Volodymyr, originally from the village of Dzhuryn in the Ternopil region, received his education as a track master at the Dnipropetrovsk Institute of Railway Transport Engineers. He worked in the Chortkiv railway distance.
He was never indifferent to people's problems, serving as a local government deputy and caring for the community's interests. In his free time, he was passionate about history, read many books, and engaged in sports.
In April 2022, Volodymyr voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought on the front lines as the commander of an anti-aircraft missile unit in the fire support company of the 111th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade.
54-year-old Sergeant Volodymyr Horyn fought his last battle against the occupiers on October 12, 2022, near the village of Novosadove in Donetsk region. While covering the retreat of his comrades, Volodymyr Ihorovych sustained a fatal injury from enemy shelling.
For his dedication and bravery, he was awarded the III degree badge, the "Honor and Glory" cross, and the "For Service to the Ukrainian People" medal. His brother Oleksandr emphasized that Volodymyr remained faithful to his oath until his last breath.
The defender was buried in his hometown of Dzhuryn. He is survived by a son and a brother.

A track master who was a deputy and community activist, he became a volunteer and commander of an anti-aircraft missile unit, heroically dying in Donetsk while covering the retreat of his comrades.
