Volodymyr LAKEY

Volodymyr was born and lived in the village of Sudylkiv in the Khmelnytskyi region. He worked as a manual welding electrician of the 3rd category in the wagon repair section at the Shepetivka repair depot.

In 2015, Volodymyr decided to become a soldier and participated in the ATO in eastern Ukraine. In 2016, he was awarded the Presidential Award of Ukraine "For Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation" and held the status of a combatant. He served as a driver-electrician for the radio station.

43-year-old soldier Volodymyr Lakey died on August 2, 2022, as a result of a gunshot wound in the Mykolaiv region's Pervomaiskyi district.

Colleagues remember him as a qualified, disciplined worker who was an example for others, held authority, and was a reliable friend and wonderful family man.

The fallen defender is survived by his wife and children.

The team at the Shepetivka repair depot of the regional branch "South-Western Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" deeply mourns this loss. His courage, discipline, and dedication are a worthy legacy for his family and colleagues. Eternal memory to the Hero!
