Volodymyr Panasenko
Volodymyr was born on December 1, 1974, in Kryvyi Rih. Later, his family moved to Kirovohrad Oblast, where he graduated from Dolynska Secondary School No. 2. He found his calling in the railway industry: after studying at Vocational Technical School No. 12 in Znamianka, he became a locomotive assistant, which laid the foundation for his future life.
Volodymyr Anatoliyovych's entire work biography was inextricably linked to the "Znamianka Locomotive Depot." For 24 years, he faithfully served the railway, rising to the position of an experienced electric locomotive driver. His colleagues valued him for his professionalism, reliability, and readiness to always be ahead. For the depot, he was not just a master of his craft, but a part of a large and strong family of railway workers.
On June 2, 2022, Volodymyr Anatoliyovych exchanged the cabin of an electric locomotive for military gear, taking up arms to defend Ukraine. As a man of duty, he bravely carried out combat missions in one of the most challenging areas of the front—Donetsk.
Unfortunately, on September 14, 2023, the life of the soldier-railwayman was cut short. The brutal war took away a beloved husband from his wife, a caring father from his children, and a reliable comrade and faithful friend from his fellow servicemen.
Volodymyr is survived by his wife Inna, son Andriy, and daughter Polina. No words can ease the pain of losing a loved one, but the memory of his heroism will live on through the ages.
The team of the "Znamianka Locomotive Depot" production unit of the "Locomotive Company" branch of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" expresses its deepest condolences to Volodymyr Anatoliyovych's family and loved ones. We bow our heads in deep sorrow for our colleague who gave his life for the peace and free future of each of us.
Honor to our Hero!
