Yaroslav Shtefin

Yaroslav was born in the village of Tynytsia, Chernihiv region. He graduated from the Chernihiv Vocational Railway Transport College. He served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a dog handler and worked as a rescuer at the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kyiv. In June 2022, he began working on the railway as a trackman of the 3rd category at the Bakhmach Track Machine Station. His colleagues knew him as a diligent, proactive, and disciplined worker.

On September 19, 2022, Yaroslav joined the ranks of defenders of the Motherland. He served as a senior reconnaissance sniper. He was a man of honor, very brave and selfless.

31-year-old Yaroslav Shtefin was killed on December 11, 2022, while performing a combat mission in the village of Neskuchne, Volnovakha district, Donetsk region.

The hero was buried on December 22, 2022, in his native Tynytsia.

Yaroslav is survived by his mother, father, and sister.
