Yevhen KOROTUN
Yevhen lived with his family in Kupiansk. He worked as a 5th-grade locksmith-plumber in the drainage section at the Kupiansk railway station.
Railway worker Yevhen Korotun and his wife tragically lost their lives on April 14, 2022. On their way to the village of Borova, where they had gone by motorcycle to visit relatives, they came under enemy fire. Multiple blast injuries left them with no chance of survival. Their bodies were found only a few days later, so mutilated that they could only be identified through medical examination. Yevhen was 49 years old. He had so much left to do: he planned to buy a house for his family and had two hobbies that he dedicated his free time to: motorcycling and fishing. The carp he made was well-known among the locals.
Colleagues remembered Yevhen as a disciplined and skilled worker. In 2007-2008, he actively participated in the reconstruction of wastewater treatment facilities and the introduction of new wastewater treatment technologies. In 2013, he was involved in the modernization of the chemical laboratory. Whatever task he undertook, he always diligently fulfilled his duties, being organized, focused, and responsible in his work. Family and neighbors describe Yevhen as a pleasant, family-oriented, kind, and hardworking man.
The deceased is survived by his 80-year-old mother and an adult daughter from his first marriage.
The team of the drainage section at the Kupiansk station of the regional branch "Southern Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" deeply mourns the tragic and brutal loss of their colleague, Yevhen Korotun, and his wife. Eternal memory!
