Yevhen LIS

Yevhen was born and lived in the city of Synelnykove, Dnipropetrovsk region. Since 2007, he worked on the railway as a rolling stock repairman, reaching the highest, 6th category. He worked at the Synelnykiv passenger car depot and the Lower Dnipro Junction locomotive depot.

His mother, Marianna Petrivna, recalls that Yevhen was a very kind, hardworking, and obedient son. He loved his profession and played football for the depot team. He dreamed of buying his mother a house in the Carpathians to live in nature. He sustained several injuries during his service, becoming silent, but carried all the pain within himself to avoid upsetting his mother.

On March 1, 2022, Denys [Yevhen] joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, serving in a mortar battery of a mechanized battalion.

34-year-old senior soldier Yevhen Lis was killed on March 28, 2023, during combat operations near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.

Yevhen is survived by his mother.

The team at the Lower Dnipro Junction locomotive depot of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" deeply mourns the loss of Yevhen Lis. His kindness, hard work, and filial love will forever remain a shining example. Eternal memory!
