Yevhen VOLOSHKOV

On August 24, 2026, on Ukraine's Independence Day, the hometown of Znamianka bid farewell to its defender, Yevhen Mykolaiovych Voloshkov, at the Heroes of Maidan Square. Official confirmation of his death came only three years after that fateful battle near Synkivka.

Yevhen was a person of exceptional erudition and deep knowledge. A native of Znamianka and a graduate of local school No. 3, he chose a path in law, graduating from the National University of Internal Affairs. He had many years of experience working in the prosecutor's office, the legal field, and held leadership positions in business.

In 2021, Yevhen Mykolaiovych consciously changed his career direction and joined the team of the militarized security service at the Znamianka station of the "Corporate Security Service" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia." With his professional knowledge, discipline, and responsible attitude, he quickly earned the respect of his colleagues.

In July 2022, Yevhen Voloshkov exchanged civilian service for frontline duties, enlisting in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As a gunner in the mechanized platoon of the separate motorized infantry brigade named after the ataman Kostiantyn Hordiienko, he faced the toughest trials of war. For exemplary service, resilience, and impeccable discipline, the unit's command repeatedly recognized him with certificates and letters of gratitude.

On October 26, 2023, near the village of Synkivka in the Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region, during a fierce confrontation with the enemy, Yevhen Mykolaiovych fought his last battle. For nearly three years, he was considered missing in action, leaving his family with a thin thread of hope that ultimately broke in August 2026.

The Hero is survived by his mother.

The entire JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" and the team of the Znamianka militarized security unit share in the grief of this loss and extend their heartfelt condolences to Yevhen Voloshkov's mother, relatives, friends, and comrades.
