Yevheniy Kantsiber

Yevheniy was born in the city of Myrhorod, Poltava region, and lived in the village of Romodan. He worked as a trackman of the 4th category at the Hrebinka railway division at the Romodan station.

Colleagues described him as a disciplined, qualified, initiative-driven, and responsible worker. Those who knew him remembered Yevhenii as calm, balanced, always ready to help, and someone who loved life and his homeland.

Without hesitation, Yevheniy took up arms to defend his homeland on February 25, 2022.

46-year-old soldier Yevheniy Kantsiber, a father of five, was killed on February 12, 2024, in the city of Vuhledar, Donetsk region, as a result of explosive injuries.

For his courage and heroism, he was awarded the Presidential distinction "For the Defense of Ukraine" and the medal "For the Defense of the Native State."

Yevheniy is survived by five children, three of whom were minors at the time of his death.

The team at the Hrebinka railway division of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows its heads in deep sorrow before Yevheniy Kantsiber. We will not forget the heroism of the man who defended his children and his native land!
