Yuriy SEMENOV

Yuriy was born in the village of Vorožba in the Sumy region. In 2019, he joined the railway family as a 3rd category track fitter in the structural unit "Volnovakha Track Distance" of the regional branch "Donetsk Railway." Colleagues remember him as a responsible and diligent worker, always ready to lend a helping hand. His humanity, calmness, and sincerity left a deep mark in the hearts of those who worked alongside him.

Since October 21, 2020, Yuriy served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under contract.

He served as a senior operator in a unit with an increased level of responsibility, where he was an example of courage and dedication for his comrades. He bravely defended his homeland and gave a worthy resistance to the occupiers. Comrades remember Yuriy as a sincere, brave, and reliable friend.

Yuriy was killed on March 6, 2022, while defending the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine during a combat mission in the Donetsk direction in the city of Volnovakha.

By the decree of the President of Ukraine No. 283/2022 dated April 27, 2022, "On awarding state awards of Ukraine," for personal courage and selflessness, for loyalty to the military oath, he was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" III degree.

We express our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Yuriy is survived by a son, a wife, and parents. May the memory of Yuriy be a source of strength and pride. We bow our heads in honor of the memory of a true son of Ukraine.

The team of the Volnovakha Track Distance deeply mourns the irreparable loss — the death of our colleague, a dedicated worker, and a true patriot of Ukraine. Eternal memory and honor to our colleague and hero. His feat will forever remain in our hearts.

We are proud that such a brave and dedicated patriot was part of our team.
