Yuriy-Theodor SOSNIVSKY
Yuriy-Theodor Sosnivskyi was born in Lviv. He received his education in his hometown, initially studying at Secondary General School No. 86, and later at the separate structural unit "Lviv Vocational College of Transport Infrastructure of the National University 'Lviv Polytechnic'." He worked as an electromechanic in the Lviv signaling and communication division.
From the first days of the full-scale invasion, Yuriy Sosnivskyi stood up to defend the integrity and independence of the state. The railway worker voluntarily joined the ranks of the 2nd Separate Galician Brigade of the Western Operational-Territorial Association of the National Guard of Ukraine, serving as an assistant grenade launcher. Later, Yuriy joined the 2nd Special Purpose Battalion of the Azov Regiment. Together with his comrades, he carried out combat missions on the eastern front.
26-year-old Yuriy-Theodor Sosnivskyi completed his last combat mission on October 2, 2024, in the vicinity of the settlement of Leonidivka in Donetsk Oblast. As a result of a massive enemy artillery shelling, the Ukrainian soldier sustained fatal injuries.
Remembering Yuriy, his colleagues noted his kindness and integrity, as well as his strong sense of civic duty, active civic stance, and great passion for football. Yuriy was a supporter of the Lviv football club "Karpaty."
The team at the Lviv signaling and communication division expresses deep condolences to his family and loved ones. The bright memory of our brave colleague and defender, who gave his life for Ukraine, will forever remain in our hearts. Eternal glory to the Hero!
