Victor Oleksandrovych Lebedynets, a veteran of railway work and a professional in his field, tragically lost his life today, March 24, 2026. His life was abruptly cut short while he was on his way to work, a routine journey. Victor Oleksandrovych became a victim of a treacherous strike from an enemy FPV drone on an electric train in the Kharkiv region. He was 61 years old.

He was born on May 16, 1964, in the village of Svitlychne, Dergachivskyi district, Kharkiv region. His life was a testament to stability, dedication to his homeland, and commitment to his profession. Victor Oleksandrovych devoted nearly his entire working life—an incredible 29 years—to the railway. In 1997, he joined the electric locomotive depot in Kharkiv "Zhovten" of the Southern Railway. He worked as a driver of a single-bucket excavator of the 5th category. This job required exceptional precision and skill, which he possessed to perfection.

The production unit "Electric Locomotive Depot Kharkiv-Hlavne" of the "Locomotive Company" branch.

For the depot, he was not just an employee, but a part of the foundation on which the daily technical operations of the enterprise relied.

The death of Victor Oleksandrovych serves as yet another painful reminder of the dangers faced daily by railway workers in the Kharkiv region. He was simply on his way to his shift, ready to get back to work, but an enemy drone cut short the path of a man who had spent decades building and maintaining the region's infrastructure.

Colleagues remember Victor Oleksandrovych with warmth and deep respect.

He was someone you could always rely on at work. His technical knowledge and experience were invaluable to the team.

His extraordinary kindness, sincerity, and boundless energy for life will remain in the memories of friends and colleagues.

The team at the "Electric Locomotive Depot Kharkiv-Hlavne" extends its heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Victor Oleksandrovych. We share in this indescribable pain from this irreparable loss.

His professionalism is forever etched in the history of the Kharkiv railway, and the bright memory of this good and hardworking man will live on in the hearts of all who had the honor of working alongside him.

Eternal memory to Victor Oleksandrovych Lebedynets.
