Mykola Ufato, a devoted son of Donetsk and a long-time railway worker, passed away on April 6, 2026, in his hometown of Sloviansk. For nearly two decades, he dedicated himself to ensuring safety and order at railway facilities, remaining at his post even during the most challenging times for his city.

Mykola was born on December 17, 1964, in Sloviansk. He lived, worked, and remained there until his last day, being an integral part of his community and the "iron family."

Mykola's career on the railway began in July 2007. Over the course of 19 years, he was a steadfast guardian of the stable operation of communication and signaling systems. He worked in the structural unit "Sloviansk Distance of Signaling and Communication" of the regional branch "Donetsk Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia."

In the team, Mykola was known as an extraordinarily hardworking individual. His position required vigilance and endurance, and he always approached his duties with a high sense of responsibility. There were no minor tasks for him—each object of the distance was under his reliable supervision.

Mykola was one of those employees upon whom the internal stability of the enterprise relied.

He did not merely follow instructions but consistently showed initiative to make the unit's work safer and better.

Over the years, he earned sincere respect among his colleagues. He was valued for his honesty, reliability, and readiness to always lend a helping hand to his fellow workers.

The tragic news of Mykola's passing in Sloviansk deeply resonated in the hearts of railway workers in Donetsk. He will be remembered as an example of a simple and honest person who dedicated his life to work on his native land.

The team of the "Sloviansk Distance of Signaling and Communication" expresses its deepest condolences to Mykola Ufato's family, friends, and loved ones. We share your sorrow and bow our heads in honor of the memory of our colleague.

May Mykola Ufato's memory be eternal. May his soul rest in peace.
