Mykola Dekhtiarchuk
The team of the Popasna railway distance and the entire family of "Ukrzaliznytsia" bow their heads in deep sorrow. We have lost a colleague, a devoted patriot, and a true son of Ukraine who gave his life for our freedom.
Mykola was born in the village of Holubivske in Luhansk region. In 2020, he chose the path of a railway worker, joining the Popasna railway distance (Donetsk railway) as a 3rd class trackman.
Over five years of work, colleagues remembered him as an initiative specialist: he always approached his tasks responsibly and was not afraid of challenges.
A person with a big heart: kind, calm, and sincere, Mykola was always ready to lend a shoulder to his friends. His humanity created a special atmosphere within the team.
On January 7, 2025, Mykola was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He chose one of the most dangerous military professions — he became a sapper.
Bravely carrying out combat missions, he held back the enemy in the Sumy direction. On March 27, 2026, near the settlement of Korchakivka, Mykola sustained extremely severe injuries. For almost a month, doctors at the Kyiv Regional Clinical Hospital fought for his life, but on April 25, the heart of the Warrior stopped.
Comrades remember him as a brave and reliable battle companion, someone you could count on in the toughest moments.
Mykola will forever remain in the memory of his loved ones as a cheerful person who loved life above all. He is survived by his wife, young son, and mother.
"His heroism is the price of our peaceful tomorrow. Mykola has passed into eternity, but his name is forever firmly etched in the history of our victory."
We express our deepest condolences to Mykola Volodymyrovych's family. May the memory of him be a source of strength and pride for you.
Eternal memory and honor to the Hero! A low bow for defending the native land.
