Eduard Dvukhimenniy
Eduard was born in the village of Stanytsia Luhanska and later lived in Mykolaiv. After graduating from the Krasnolymansky vocational school, he became a locomotive assistant. He served in the military and also fought in Afghanistan. In civilian life, he worked as a locomotive assistant and later as a locomotive driver at the Mykolaiv depot.
Eduard loved football (he was a fan of FC Barcelona), hockey, fishing, and was an excellent ice skater. Together with his son, he supported the Revolution of Dignity on Maidan. His call sign during service was "Pianist," reflecting his love for music (especially Pink Floyd and Alan Parsons). He cherished spending time with his family and adored his grandchildren.
With the onset of the full-scale invasion, Eduard voluntarily took up arms to defend Ukraine, joining the ranks of the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade, where he served as a grenade launcher in the Luhansk and Donetsk directions. Unfortunately, he was captured by Russian forces on April 17, 2022, and over a year later, his heart stopped.
60-year-old soldier Eduard Dvukhimenniy passed away on June 15, 2023, while in captivity in the Russian city of Vladimir.
Eduard Anatoliyovych is survived by his wife, daughter, three sons, two grandsons, and two granddaughters.
The team at the Mykolaiv locomotive depot of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" mourns the memory of Eduard Dvukhimenniy with indescribable pain and anger. Eternal memory to the unyielding warrior!
