Ihor Vasylyna
Vasylina Ihor Hryhorovych was born on July 25, 1969, in the village of Yahonivka, Lyprovodolin District, Sumy Region. He lived in the city of Bilopillia, Sumy Region. He graduated from the Sumy Machine-Building Technical School in 1988, obtaining the qualification of technician-technologist. For over 20 years, he diligently worked at the Sumy Wagon Depot. "Ihor was very hardworking. He did everything at home with his own hands," said his wife’s brother.
Ihor worked as a 4th category locksmith for the repair of rolling stock at the Sumy branch of the "Sumy Wagon Depot" under the "Passenger Company" of the joint-stock company "Ukrainian Railways"; he held this position since August 2004 (with 20 years of experience).
Ihor Hryhorovych died as a result of an accident during military operations in a state of war. On the morning of May 17, 2025, he was traveling with his wife from Bilopillia to Sumy, where the couple had previously evacuated, but his wife continued to work in Bilopillia. The bus they were on was hit by an enemy drone, "Lancet," at a railway crossing on the Bilopillia-Sumy road. He died on the spot from shrapnel wounds to the head.
Ihor is survived by an adult son, who immediately became an orphan.
