Nazar MAKAROV
Nazar Mykolaiovych Makarov was born on May 16, 1997, in the city of Stryi, Lviv region. He lived in Stryi, where he studied at School No. 9 (now Stryi Gymnasium named after T. Bobanych). After finishing school, he enrolled in Vocational School No. 8 in Stryi.
He worked at the Stryi Car Repair Plant as a transport worker in the forging and mechanical shop. His experience on the railway totaled 3 years. Colleagues knew him as a responsible and sincere person. He had a strong and decisive character, which earned him authority and respect among his peers.
Nazar was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine in September 2022. He participated in combat operations near Chasiv Yar. Later, as part of his unit, he conducted four raids into the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. With his appointment as a squad commander on April 1, 2025, Private Makarov Nazar Mykolaiovych was awarded the military rank of "Junior Sergeant."
Nazar passed away at the Military Medical Clinical Center of the Northern Region in Kharkiv on April 7, 2025, during treatment for injuries sustained a few days earlier.
For his courage and heroism displayed in defense of the state sovereignty, integrity, and independence of Ukraine, he was awarded the "Golden Cross" by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in September 2024.
We express our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Nazar is survived by his mother, father, daughter, wife, and two younger brothers.
