Roman Mykhailovych Kobryn, an experienced railway worker and brave sniper, has been officially declared deceased after 18 long months of uncertainty. His earthly journey ended in September 2024 while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Krasnohorivka in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region. He was 46 years old.

Roman was born on September 19, 1978, in the village of Dovhe in Lviv region. He was a person of bright spirit, whose sincerity and joyfulness warmed everyone around him.

Roman Mykhailovych dedicated a significant part of his life to railway transport, starting his career in 2008.

Over more than 16 years of work, he became not just a specialist, but a person whom everyone could always rely on.

Colleagues remember him as an extraordinarily diligent and responsible worker. Roman earned genuine respect in the team for his dedication to his work and his readiness to help at any moment.

When the country called for defense, Roman did not stand aside. On June 25, 2024, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He served as a sniper in the 1st mechanized squad of the 2nd mechanized company of his military unit.

He participated in fierce battles in one of the most challenging directions — Pokrovsk. In September 2024, during a combat mission, communication with him was lost.

For a year and a half, exhausting searches and hopes for a miracle continued. It was only through DNA analysis that it was finally established that the Hero died in battle, remaining true to his military oath until his last breath.

Outside of work and service, Roman was an extraordinarily versatile individual.

He loved traveling above all, discovering the beauty of his homeland.

His heart was filled with sincere faith in God and boundless love for Ukraine. Colleagues and friends will always remember him as cheerful, joyful, and exceptionally kind.

The loss of Roman is an unhealable wound for his family. He was a loving son, and now his elderly mother is left alone, having lost her only support.

We express our deepest condolences to the mother, relatives, and friends of Roman Mykhailovych. The railway team bows its heads in deep sorrow. We have lost not just a colleague, but a true patriot, whose humanity and kindness will forever remain in our hearts as an example of high dignity.

Eternal memory and glory to the Hero!
