Roman Tsymbaliuk
Roman was born in the city of Kharkiv. After graduating from the Kharkiv Vocational Railway Transport College in January 2020, he joined the railway family, becoming a mechanic for the repair of rolling stock at the "Motor Car Depot Kharkiv" production unit of the regional branch "Southern Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia," where he worked for 5 years.
From June 2020, his life was dedicated to service, as he was enlisted in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Roman was serving in the city of Vovchansk. He actively participated in the liberation of Ukrainian territories from Russian invaders. Among the settlements where he showed bravery were Staryi Saltiv, Piatykhatky, Vovchansk, Kharkiv, and Bakhmut. Roman lived, studied, worked, and served in his hometown of Kharkiv.
On June 21, 2025, while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Sotnytsky Kozachok in the Bohodukhiv district of Kharkiv region, Roman heroically died defending the freedom and independence of his homeland.
Roman was passionate about biathlon and dreamed of a peaceful life and a future connected to the railway. After victory and the completion of his service, he wanted to return to the railway and become a train driver.
Roman was awarded the medals "For the Defense of the Hero City of Kharkiv," "For Courage in Guarding the State Border," and "Excellent Border Guard."
We express our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Roman is survived by his father and grandmother.
