Ruslan Valeriyovych Chernyshov was born on April 26, 1973, in the village of Subottsi, located in the Kirovohrad region. After finishing local school, he studied carpentry at a vocational school in the city of Znamianka.

In 2013, he moved to the village of Sudylkiv. Here, he met his destiny—his wife Olena, who was raising two daughters and a son. He accepted the children as his own. Later, the couple welcomed a daughter, Karyna. This was Ruslan's second marriage; from his first marriage, he had two adult daughters. He was a caring and loving father to his five daughters and son, as well as a devoted grandfather to six grandchildren.

Since July 2020, Ruslan worked as a repairman in the mechanical equipment repair section of the Shepetivka Repair Depot. He had four years of experience working on the railway. Wherever Ruslan worked, his colleagues respected him for his responsibility, honesty, friendliness, good nature, and willingness to always lend a helping hand.

He was called up for military service on June 11, 2024. From June to September 2024, he underwent military training in Ukraine, and in October and November, he was deployed to France. After returning from abroad, he defended the independence and territorial integrity of his homeland against the Russian occupiers in Eastern Ukraine.

During one of the battles, Senior Gunner of the mortar calculation of a military unit, Sergeant Ruslan V. Chernyshov heroically fell on March 24, 2025, while carrying out a combat mission to deter Russian aggression near one of the settlements in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region.

A faithful son of Ukraine, a brave and courageous warrior, a loyal comrade in the fight for peace in Ukraine, he gave the most precious thing—his life.

Ruslan was buried in Sudylkiv, Khmelnytskyi region, with full military honors.

May the earth rest lightly upon him, and may the memory of him live on in every home, on every street, in the hearts of those who knew him, and even in the hearts of those who heard of him for the first time.

Rest in peace, Ruslan Valeriyovych. Eternal glory and honor to the Hero!
