Ruslan OSTAШ
Ostash Ruslan was born and lived in the village of Rayliv in the Stryi district of Lviv region. After finishing school, he enrolled in Vocational School No. 8 in Stryi, where he obtained qualifications as an assistant locomotive driver and a locksmith for locomotive repairs. In 2022, he completed training at the Personnel Development Center of Lviv Railways for the profession of "rigger." He worked as a locksmith for rolling stock repairs in the wagon repair shop at the Stryi Wagon Repair Plant, a branch of "UZ Vagon-Service."
In May 2024, Ruslan took up arms to defend Ukraine, serving in the artillery troops and honorably fulfilling his military duty.
Soldier Ruslan Ostash passed away on May 9, 2025, in a military unit in the city of Morshyn due to illness. He was 49 years old.
Ruslan was a hardworking and responsible employee, communicative and compassionate. He loved life, according to those who knew him. He was characterized by sincerity and a desire to help others—he simply could not refuse anyone.
Ruslan is survived by his wife and son.
