Vasyl SUSHCHYK
Vasyl Vasylovych Sushchyk was born on January 10, 1981, in the village of Rymachi, Lyuboml District, Volyn Region.
He worked in the production unit of the "Passenger Car Depot Kovel," a branch of the "Passenger Company" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia," as a 4th category locksmith for the repair of rolling stock at the passenger car rearrangement point, with 2 years of experience.
He was mobilized on October 24, 2024, holding the rank of senior soldier, second category border service inspector, and grenade launcher at the border outpost of the Volyn Detachment.
Vasyl Sushchyk was killed on June 13, 2025, in the vicinity of the settlement Dvorychanske in the Kharkiv region, faithful to his military oath and the Ukrainian people. He fulfilled his duty to the last breath, defending the freedom and independence of Ukraine. His bravery, self-sacrifice, and dedication became an example of true heroism.
He held an active civic position and enjoyed fishing and mushroom picking. He purchased a house that he planned to renovate and start a family.
His colleagues knew him as a patriot of Ukraine, a calm, responsible, fair, and principled person. He always offered his help and never conflicted with anyone. He could not tolerate lies and deceit.
Vasyl is survived by his mother and sister.
