Oleksandr BULAT
Bulat Oleksandr Serhiyovych, a professional soldier-tankist and guard of strategic railway facilities, died on May 27, 2022, while defending his native Mykolaiv region. His life was cut short in the village of Velyke Artakove during fierce battles for Ukraine's freedom. Oleksandr was a man of honor who dedicated years to the defense of the state and the security of railway arteries.
Oleksandr began his journey in the "iron family" in October 2021. Despite his short tenure—7 months—he managed to establish himself as an exceptionally reliable specialist.
He served as a shooter in the security team for particularly important facilities at the Trykhati station.
He was part of the "Kherson Detachment of Militarized Guard" of the regional branch "Odesa Railway."
Colleagues remember Oleksandr as an initiative-driven and diligent worker. In the militarized guard unit, where discipline is fundamental, he was a model of responsibility. His sincerity and active participation in the collective life earned him deep respect among his comrades.
Oleksandr Serhiyovych's military biography is a story of a true professional who understood the value of peace.
As early as 2014, he took part in combat operations in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions as part of military unit A2802.
During his years of contract service (2016–2019), he rose to the rank of sergeant and held the responsible position of tank commander. His experience and leadership qualities were invaluable to the army.
On March 16, 2022, at the very beginning of the full-scale invasion, Oleksandr did not remain indifferent and took up arms once again to protect his homeland.
Oleksandr was born in the village of Novopetrivske in the Mykolaiv region. He was a loving husband and father who above all wanted to see his children happy in a free country.
Oleksandr is survived by two young children: daughter Karina and son Oleksandr, who bears the name of his heroic father.
The team of the Kherson Detachment of Militarized Guard of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" expresses its deepest condolences to the Hero's family. We have lost not just a colleague, but a loyal friend and a true son of the Ukrainian people. His courage and self-sacrifice will forever remain in the memory of railway workers.
Eternal memory and honor to the Hero!
