Andrii Tsupko
Andriy Oleksiyovych Tsupko, a young and energetic assistant locomotive engineer who chose the path of a warrior, died on January 29, 2026. His life was cut short during fierce battles in the Zaporizhzhia direction, where he defended the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine until his last breath. Andriy was only 24 years old.
He was born on April 19, 2001, in the village of Bruskyne in the Kherson region. He began his career at a very young age, joining the "iron family" right after his studies.
Despite his young age, Andriy already had 7 years of experience in the railway industry. In May 2018, he became an assistant locomotive engineer at the Kryvyi Rih locomotive depot.
Colleagues remember him as an exceptionally disciplined worker who quickly mastered complex machinery.
With his wonderful sense of humor and sincerity, Andriy instantly became "one of his own" in the team. He was respected by both his peers and the gray-haired veterans of the depot, who saw in him the future of the railway.
From conscript to mountain assault soldier
Andriy's military story began in October 2019 when he was drafted for compulsory service. However, the heart of a patriot would not allow him to stand aside, and he chose the path of a professional soldier by signing a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Andriy defended Ukraine as part of a mountain assault battalion—one of the most battle-hardened units.
For his comrades, he was an example of bravery. He not only followed orders but was a reliable shoulder in the toughest moments of assaults, giving a worthy response to the enemy.
Andriy was a pillar for his closest women—his mother and two sisters. His death is a painful wound that will never heal in the hearts of his loved ones.
We express our deepest condolences to Andriy's mother and his sisters.
The team at the Kryvyi Rih locomotive depot of the "Locomotive Company" branch of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows their heads in deep sorrow. We have lost not only a talented railway worker but a true titan who held the sky above us. The bright image of Andriy Tsupko, his smile, and courage will forever remain in the memory of his colleagues.
Eternal memory and honor to the Hero!
