Serhiy Kutsenko
Serhiy was born in the city of Chernihiv into a large family. In 2016, after graduating from the Chernihiv Vocational Railway Transport College, he began his career as a trackman of the 3rd category at the Chernihiv track division, where he worked for 7 years.
Military service became his calling: after completing his conscription (in 2018), Serhiy transitioned to contract service and became a soldier in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he served in a missile and anti-aircraft regiment, where he was an example of bravery and dedication for his comrades.
Serhiy Volodymyrovych Kutsenko, trackman, was killed on January 21, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission in the village of Novodanylivka in the Polohy district of the Zaporizhzhia region.
Serhiy was a bright, positive person, always smiling, honest, decent, modest, reserved, and wise, yet very brave. In 2023, he met his love and got married.
For his service, Serhiy was awarded a certificate of appreciation for professionalism during the Joint Forces Operation and a badge "For Courage in Service."
He is survived by his wife, her child, parents, brothers, and sisters.
The team of the Chernihiv track division of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows its head with deep sorrow and pride before Serhiy Kutsenko. His courage, dedication, and ultimate sacrifice will forever be our symbol of honor.
