Ihor Doroshenko
Igor Doroshenko was born in the city of Chernihiv. He studied at school No. 21 and then enrolled in a railway vocational school, specializing as a "Locomotive Assistant."
He worked on the railway for 23 years, serving as a train driver at the Chernihiv motor car depot of the "Suburban Passenger Company." In his free time, he enjoyed spending time outdoors and was passionate about fishing. He loved to travel across Ukraine, discovering beautiful places for relaxation.
On February 24, 2022, Igor took up arms to defend his homeland, volunteering for the Chernihiv Territorial Defense. He defended the borders of Chernihiv region and later fought in Donetsk and Luhansk regions as a senior sergeant of a rifle platoon.
Friends describe Igor as a wonderful person in every aspect—at work, in family relationships, and with many friends; he always helped others. He dreamed of a future where generations would live in a free and independent Ukraine.
43-year-old Igor Doroshenko was killed on March 23, 2024, in the village of Pobeda in Donetsk region due to an explosive injury.
The team at the Chernihiv Motor Car Depot expresses deep condolences to Igor Doroshenko's wife Anna and son Oleksiy. We will remember him as a great colleague and Defender who gave his life for a free Ukraine. Honor and glory to the Hero!
