Maksym MAZHARA
Maksym was born in the urban-type settlement of Nemishaieve in the Kyiv region. In 2011, he joined the railway family as a train assembler, and in 2016, he became a dispatcher at the Hrusky railway station of the regional branch of the "South-Western Railway." He dedicated 17 years to the railway industry.
Colleagues remember him as kind, responsible, balanced, decisive, and hardworking. He was respected in the team for his professionalism, accountability, and humanity. His presence always instilled confidence, and his support fostered faith in their common cause.
On March 2, 2022, Maksym joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the separate guard brigade of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, being a true warrior—loyal to his oath, a faithful comrade, and unyielding in the fight for Ukraine's freedom and independence. He held himself with dignity in the ranks, never backing down from difficulties, and remained on the front lines until the very end.
Maksym was killed on June 21, 2024, while defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine during shelling in Donetsk region.
His brothers said about Maxim: "He never sought easy paths and always went where it was hardest." Friends of the fallen said: "Decisive, hardworking, his life motto was: 'We fight to live.'
He lived with dreams of a peaceful life—of family, of a home filled with the laughter of children.
Maksym is survived by a daughter and two brothers.
The team at the Hrusky railway station deeply mourns the irreparable loss and expresses sincere condolences to Maksym's daughter, brothers, family, and loved ones. Our colleague, who lived his life under the motto "We fight to live," was a true example of professionalism and courage, always going where it was hardest. Eternal memory and honor to our Hero!
