Mykola Datsyuk
Mykola was born on January 13, 1983, in the village of Zdolbunytsia, Rivne region. In 2007, he tied his fate to the railway, starting work at the Zdolbuniv Repair Wagon Depot. For 17 years, he was an integral part of the "iron family," working as a painter of the 3rd category. Colleagues remember him as an extraordinarily disciplined, responsible, and dedicated worker. Mykola had a great sense of humor, could engage in any conversation, and was always ready to lend a helping hand.
On May 13, 2024, Mykola joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in a ranger battalion, where his bravery and dedication made him an example for his comrades. The call sign "Wolverine" became a symbol of his resilience and determination in the fight against the occupiers.
Mykola Mykolaiovych Datsiuk, a painter at the wagon depot and a brave warrior with the call sign "Wolverine," was killed on June 29, 2024, defending Ukraine in one of the most challenging directions—Pokrovsk. His last battle took place near the settlement of Novoselivka Persha in the Donetsk region.
The path to bring the Hero home was long and painful. For over 18 months, Mykola was considered missing in action. During this time, his family lived in a state of despair and hope, searching daily for any news and praying for a miracle. However, DNA testing put an end to these hopes, confirming the soldier's death.
Mykola is survived by his parents.
The team at the Zdolbuniv Repair Wagon Depot of the "UZ Vahon-Servis" branch bows their heads with deep sorrow and unspeakable pain in memory of their colleague. We have lost a bright person, a reliable professional, and a true Hero who gave his life for a peaceful sky over Ukraine. His courage, dedication to the military oath, and the ultimate price he paid for our freedom will forever remain in the memory of railway workers. Eternal memory and honor to our Defender!
