Mykola Derevyanko
Mykola was born in the city of Synelnykove, Dnipropetrovsk region. He dedicated his entire working life, which spanned 20 years, to the railway. Since 2004, he worked as a trackman in the Synelnykivska railway division, and from 2018, he was a lumberjack in the Dnipro division of protective afforestation.
His mother, Valentyna Volodymyrivna, shares that Mykola was passionate about sports, loved playing football, and was drafted into the army earlier, serving in the border troops. With the onset of the full-scale war, he was called back to military service on April 5, 2022. Mykola served in air defense and later in an assault company that was sent to Krynyky.
The 41-year-old soldier Mykola Derevyanko, a driver in the supply platoon, was killed on November 21, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Krynyky in the Kherson region. He would have turned 42 in two months.
Mykola is survived by his mother Valentyna Volodymyrivna and his son Semen, whom he loved dearly and taught everything he knew.
