Mykola OLYVA
Mykola was born in the city of Lviv. After studying at vocational schools and a college of transport infrastructure, as well as completing military service, he began his career on the railway in 2016. In 2022, he was transferred to the position of assistant locomotive driver at the Lviv-West locomotive depot. Over his 9 years of work on the railway, colleagues remembered him as a dedicated and responsible worker who quickly earned their respect.
Mykola fulfilled his military duty with honor. After suffering a serious injury near Kreminna, he underwent treatment and, despite everything, returned to the front to be with his comrades, where he sacrificed the most precious thing—his life—for our victory.
Mykola, assistant locomotive driver, was killed in action on February 27, 2024, near the settlement of Ivanivske in the Bakhmut district of Donetsk region.
For his bravery, the soldier was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage III degree.
Mykola is survived by his parents and brother.
The team at the Lviv-West locomotive depot of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows their heads in profound sorrow and pride before Mykola. Eternal memory to the Hero!
