Oksana Storozhenko was born in the city of Synelnykove in the Dnipropetrovsk region. She graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk Railway Transport Technical School. In 2015, she began working on the railway as a duty officer at the recreation house for locomotive (train) crews of the Synelnykove locomotive depot. A month earlier, she had turned 40 years old.

In the team where the railway worker was employed, she will always be remembered as cheerful, friendly, energetic, and responsible.

The head of the recreation house for locomotive (train) crews, Lydia Koval, recalls with tears in her eyes: "She was a sunshine person. She would step over the threshold and already be smiling, encouraging everyone, calming them down, warming them with her bright light. The locomotive crews that stopped by would ask, 'Where is our sunshine? We haven't seen her today; she must be off.' She was very tidy—everything was clean and sparkling. She planted a flowerbed by the entrance—it was a joy to the eye, with not a single weed. People became kinder from Oksana's warmth; we miss her very much."

The head of the trade union organization at the Synelnykove locomotive depot, Margarita Borsuk, notes that Oksana Storozhenko was delicate, always smiling and gentle, very modest and well-mannered: "She avoided any disputes, always sought common ground with people. She loved her family dearly, always hurried home after work, dedicating much time and energy to her boys—her husband and sons."

Her husband, Serhiy Storozhenko, who is also a railway worker and works in the departmental paramilitary security, shares his memories: "I met Oksana when I came back from the army on leave. Our eyes met, and I immediately understood that she was my destiny... Oksana was the true soul not only of our family but also of our circle of friends. She loved to organize and come up with ideas... Her kindness and warmth radiated from her. An excellent hostess, she never hesitated to cook something fresh for the family... She even had enough energy for a side job at the local school, where she worked as a secretary before joining the locomotive depot." He added that their 17-year-old son Ilya is studying on a budget at Dnipropetrovsk University, while their 15-year-old son Vanya is an unstoppable dynamo, the soul of his class and football team.

Oksana Storozhenko died at her workplace during a missile attack on the city of Synelnykove on April 19, 2024. The enemy destroyed the House of Science and Technology of the Synelnykove locomotive depot, where she worked.

Oksana is survived by her husband Serhiy and their sons Ilya and Ivan.

The team at the Synelnykove locomotive depot is deeply saddened by the tragic death of Oksana Storozhenko. We express our sincere condolences to her husband Serhiy and sons Ilya and Ivan on this unimaginable loss.
